90% Raw diet
We always try to eat as much raw as possible. At home it's' not hard, but even then we shoot for at least 90%. The raw diet is a lifestyle for us. So we don't get frustrated 90% is an easier goal to obtain.
Monday night after I got off work at 5:00 we had to go to Eureka (the closest large city approx 60 miles north) to pick up our new washer and dryer. By the time we got there and finished our transaction it was 8:00! Way past time to eat when you do raw. We do find you need to eat when you first get hungry because the food we eat has very little calories, so feeling hunger now means EAT. Getting back to my story, in Eureka we have yet to find a Raw food establishment. There are 2 "organic" stores, with deli's, but most of the food they offer (whenever I've looked, is not raw, except the occasional spinach salad). There is however Sushi, which continues to be one of our favorite foods. 90% means that 9 out of 10 meals are raw, or 9 out of 10 items on our plate are raw.
The results I have found are great. No massive frustration over not being 100%, easier to put together meals, I have lost approx. 8 lbs while still eating approx 10% cooked food (I drink beer too
It's one of my vices, of course they are only the best micro brews, but I know they are not raw.
We are doing this diet because we are disgusted with the food supply, as we watch our parents and friends fall apart we don't want any part of it.
I want to be encouragement to others who are feeling the same way.
Have a great day at 90%!
