Soft skin

We are always (at least I am anyway) looking for ways to perfect our bodies and keep them young. I recently ran into this product, and attest that it is a secret to keeping your skin young and healthy.

The Tampico Skin Brush Made by Yerba Prima

I purchased one at our local organic store and use it about once a week. Talk about WOW! The first time I used it I couldn't believe how good my skin felt!

I have had to change body lotions recently because my favorite lotion dropped the unscented (that I loved and had been using for 3 years), and I am having a hard time finding one that doesn't go on "heavy". But, after using this brush (before getting in the shower), nothing is heavy anymore! Not even the pure Coconut Butter cream I recently purchased!

They actually recommend using it daily, but I forget a lot.

I get comments about my soft skin..... which is always nice . And of course Damon loves my soft skin also!

If you don't already brush your skin, I recommend these to everyone! You just gotta try it! You'll notice the difference in your skin softness immediately! It makes me tingly all over too, an overall energetic good feeling!

Warning: It's a little scratchy at first, but you don't have to brush hard. Read the info on it below.

Here's a tidbit on Skin Brushing from Yerba Prima:

SKIN BRUSHING - ENHANCING YOUR HEALTH

As the largest eliminative organ, the skin plays a vital role in ridding the body of toxins and impurities. Many health practitioners recommend dry skin brushing to open up the pores of the skin and clean out the lymphatic system. When the pores are not clogged with dead cells and the lymphatic system is cleansed, the body is able to carry out its important function of eliminating toxins and waste material.

How to Skin Brush

The best time to dry skin brush is right before your morning shower or bath. Remember to brush when the skin is dry, since the skin may pull and sag if it is brushed wet. Begin by gently brushing with one-stroke movements. The skin should not become red. If it does, you are probably brushing too hard. The basic principle is to brush from the outermost points of your body (hands and feet) towards the center. Start by brushing from your feet to your abdomen, then from your hands up your arms towards the heart. Brush across your upper back and down the front and back of your torso. Cover the entire surface of your skin.

The best way to find out about the benefits of skin brushing is to try it for yourself. Most people find that it feels wonderful, helps to keep the skin youthful and beautiful and actually improves the health of the whole body. Dry skin brushing is the most powerful thing you can do for the skin and lymphatic system on a daily basis. It takes only a few minutes a day and really produces results.

Hi Toni - I liked hearing about the skin-brushing! Although I have been using a long-handled brush for my body for quite some time (a good ol' back brush) I didn't know about the dry-skin technique OR what directions (extremities toward heart.) I am happy that you posted this, and that it combines a beauty ritual with health benefits. As you and Damon witness my facial features regularly, you see (as others do,) a complexion of a much younger woman than my 57 years should display...blame it on my facial brushing! I am glad I found one many years ago, and it is showing signs of "replacement time." Should you know of a certain soft, small one available, please e-mail me; otherwise I am leaning towards getting a mens' shaving brush (old timey style) and chopping the longer bristles down a tad. Thank you for this post; looking and feeling young, plus feeling smooth, is something many people strive for. Keep up the good work!
