Fresh Raw Fruit Leather

We have an abundance of Pears all of a sudden! Our neighbors tree produces tons of pears and last year we just watched the ones that did not get eaten by squirrels rot on the ground. This year, using our handy dehydrator I couldn't wait to try some fresh fruit leather.

These were Nathan approved! Ali was not so keen to the strong cinnamon but I think it grew on her, she asked for more .  They taste like Apple Pie!

 Here's the recipe.

4 or 5 fresh Pears, cored but not peeled
2 Fuji Apples (fuji is what I had, but any apple would be fine) Cored and peeled
1 Tbs. Cinnamon
1/2 cup Filtered water (only needed if fruit is not mixing well in blender)

Place everything in blender, or food processor, add water if needed, should be puree when done. Place on teflex sheets approx 1/4 inch thick. Wait 4-6 hours to peel off teflex and place on dehydrator sheet to finish drying. When done, wrap in Plastic wrap or wax paper (just like the ones you purchase in the store). Make lots and store in jars for winter munchies!!
Never purchase another processed fruit roll up for your kids!!!!!!
