Raw Diet Weight Loss

I haven't mentioned the amount of weight I have lost lately, some of my friends know because you can now tell that my body is changing shape. So I took a screen shot of the Wii Fit that I have been using for my scale.

We purchased the Wii in Dec 08. My goal was to use it for exercise. And to give the kids something to do in the cold winter months. But seriously, I knew I was gaining weight. So what do all of us do? Purchase something to help. Well, unless you use your indoor gym, videos or exercise equipment, they don't help you loose weight!!!. Between Dec and March my weight was going up and down by about 7 pounds! I knew I was having a hard time keeping my weight down, so what did I do? Stopped using the wii for about 2 months! That wasn't the right thing to do, obviously. In April I went to my Women's annual appointment and she confirmed that I was 18 pounds heavier than I was 2 years prior! Wow that was a blow! The only thing that made me feel better that day was to go shopping! Isn't that our natural reaction? I was lucky this time, I had been shopping for a car for several weeks prior and had put several hours aside after my appointment to go north and look for a vehicle. I did find my used Kia Sorento, and it seemed to make that 18 lbs disappear. For a minute . Two weeks after that day Damon and I went to Fort Bragg and found our first Raw Food cookbook. I had never heard of the Raw Food Diet or Lifestyle so I was intrigued. I told him, the recipes better be easy or I'll never stick with it!

We started eating raw late April. As you can see from the chart above, my weight has not rubber banded like it had previously. I admit I am still not using the Wii for exercise. Right now it's my scale. I'll continue to work on that exercise thing . But for now, I like how easy it's been to change my food intake to increase my energy and lower my jean size!!! I'm eating lots of great food, feeling satisfied after every meal, and never feeling that I'm being punished (like most diets leave you feeling). This is a weight loss program that I can do!

Toni, I think you look GREAT! At my age I found I can't eat & be burning it all off like I used to; I never dreamed I'd start (ugh) dieting! The summer bounty appears a good place to start...I wish to thank you & Damon for inspiration and all that you share with me!
