Weekly Farmer's Market Trip
We take full advantage of the two farmer's markets available weekly in our small community. Wednesday's in Miranda and Friday's in Garberville. This is Wednesday's bounty with a couple of additions from our garden and tomatillo's from the neighbors! We are so lucky to have a wonderful assortment of organics available. Our kitchen and refrigerator look like a produce stand!!! Here's a couple of photos of what it looked like before and after we processed alot of it into the dehydrator.
That's Pat. She's not very happy with the veggies. She prefers Raw meat!
We filled all 9 of the dehydrator trays! No marinating, we are planning on using the zucchini in our next lasagna (I'll have the recipe up soon) and all the other various peppers, onions, tomatoes, lime, garlic (you can't see it all) will be used in our fresh spices and hot sauce recipes that Damon is stewing up! More to come on those later......
It's amazing how much everything shrinks! To rehydrate, soak in water, or marinate in the sauce of choice.... It's that easy!
None of my zucchini will go to waste! We actually purchased a Food Saver so we can have fresh veggies in the cold winter months also. Our pantry is filling up!!!!
What are you doing with your fresh veggies to stock up for Winter?
