Here's what the food industry wants you to think......is this really freedom of choice?

I am trying not to become a fanatic when it comes to our food, but this site really sent me over the edge. The Center for Consumer Freedom. This site tries to tell us that processed foods are "as good as" any other food we purchase. They try to tell us that  "All sugars are the same, and processed the same way". They tell us that we don't need to stop eating processed foods and sugars because they are not causing diabetes and every other health issue that we are facing.

They feel justified in twisting the truth about what is done to "real food" so we feel better about what we eat. This is right off the site from the About Us link:
Who funds you guys? How about some "full disclosure"?
The Center for Consumer Freedom is supported by over 100 companies and thousands of individual consumers. From farm to fork, from urban to rural, our friends and supporters include businesses, their employees, and their customers.

The Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. We file regular statements with the Internal Revenue Service, which are open to public inspection.

Many of the companies and individuals who support the Center financially have indicated that they want anonymity as contributors. They are reasonably apprehensive about privacy and safety in light of the violence and other forms of aggression some activists have adopted as a "game plan" to impose their views, so we respect their wishes.

Who's hiding behind this organization? Who do you think needs to have ..."anonymity as contributors.... reasonably apprehensive about privacy and safety in light of the violence and other forms of aggression..."

That is NOT full disclosure...
I would assume the food industry is behind this site... Who do you think is funding it? Your guess is as good as mine. This form of advertising is the basis for every commercial we see on TV.

We started doing research on the food industry about a year ago. So even though we just started on our raw food journey only 6 months ago, we came in through the front door. Through our 12 months or so of research we found over and over again that processed packaged foods are dead. How could food still be good for you that has gone through machines to process, package, ship and store for later consumption? The food industry only wants to sell their product. They don't care what it does or doesn't do to our health as long as the FDA or USDA rulings say it is GRAS. This site will give you a small idea of what they do to food so that we will buy it. The bottom line is their fat wallets.
What does a bag of frozen corn cost? And if you purchase organic? Even if you don't grow it, please purchase corn on the cob, and freeze it yourself! I showed you how easy it was! Saving Fresh Corn. The point is, the less people that handle your food the better. Lets get back to the Garden of Eden, and eat our food right off the tree and vine. Living raw food cures. Do some research on the subject. I'm not the only one saying it. Here's a good site to look at: RawandJuicy.com, (note: she's got a book that you can download) and there are many more just like her. What kind of ailments are you suffering from? What are your doctor's "controlling" with pills? Now we're talking about the drug industry. Do some research on them...... again, profit.
Back to the food industry subject......
Just to keep on top of the food industry we subscribed to some magazines that the food industry publishes. We'll keep you posted as soon as we start receiving the information that the food industry uses to "enhance flavors and colors to entice consumer purchases". What we have found is that they will use ANY means to gain a profit. Check this out!

I realize now that I was a terrible vegetarian. I gained weight because I was still consuming processed "vegetarian" foods. I was still eating processed white flours, over-cooking my food and including dairy as part of my daily dietary intake. I was tired all the time and had frequent headaches. With my Mother's diagnosis of MS (at my current age) I was fearing that I too was showing signs and symptoms of the same. That was a very scary thought.
I hope that I don't offend anyone. The soul purpose for my blogs are to tell everyone that WE ARE WHAT WE EAT!!! Seriously, once you get that concept down word by word.... what are we eating? And again in my own words, I truly believe.... Every life is worth living.

Once you start to incorporate more raw living food in your diet you realize how flavorful your food is. Flavors are what we associate with cravings. Most of us have cravings for sweets examples: chocolate, candy, cake, donuts etc. Why do we crave things that are bad for us? The food industry has engineered packaged and processed foods to make us crave them. Our recent post on the food industry and the engineering that they go through to entice us to eat more and crave products exposes the steps they go through to sell us what they think we ...
